Because we are going to have a dinner with the Nobel Prize winner, Oliver Smithies, Kelly and I planed to help BC taking a bath in the bath tub. I have asked BC for a thousand times if he wanted to take a hot bath in the tub, but I always got a “NO!” for answer. We wanted him to have a tub not only because of the dinner but also want him to smell good and look great.
Kelly came here at about 5p.m., and we soon started to prepare everything for the bath. We get the clothes ready and put warm water in the tub, just waited BC to jump into the tub. How tricky he is! I asked him whether he wanted to have a bath or not, he said “ok, but let me finish this e-mail.” That’s fine! After the e-mail, he went to sit in front of the TV, waiting for his idol, Obama, to speak. It was out of time, so I begged him to go to the bath room. It spent me so many time to let him get into the tub. Kelly and I hold him tightly just in case he would fall on the floor in the bathroom. It was just like a war. I can describe the story better in Chinese.
When BC first saw the full water of the tub, he yelled”Oh my god!” we felt very funny with his reaction. The most difficult part of the tub bath was getting in and off the tub. BC yelled for the hot water, but he didn’t know how to control the faucet, then he got the hotter water. We would say he is “假勵害” in Chinese. Finally, we finished the bath and walked out the bathroom to put on his clothes in the living room, he said “I can’t believe I survive!” how he could be so funny! After the bath, Kelly and I were exhausted!
The dinner was great, except I have to cut the food into pieces for BC that made me have mo time to eat my food. I was just like a mother taking a baby out for dinner. BC and Dr. Oliver Smithies had a great talk during the dinner. When I told BC that he will have a public talk with Dr. Oliver in the next Monday, he said ”Oh my Goodness, you have to save me!” hahahaha, you are kidding, how can I save you?! This night, BC made us laugh ourselves hoarse. It was so honorable to have a dinner with so many famous people, and they are all good people. Nice experience!
